Beginning SMART™ Interactive White Board Training Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 5:00pm -7:00pm
This is a beginning workshop for teachers who are ;starting to use or who are interested in using a SMART™ Interactive Whiteboard. This workshop will introduce you to SMART™ Board hardware and software. You will learn how to create engaging interactive lessons to meet the needs of your students, as well as find lessons and templates that correlate to the standards. This workshop, appropriate for teachers of all grade levels, will give practical ways on how to keep students focused and engaged while learning key components of the curriculum. Google: Web Page Creator and Calendar Thursday, October 23, 2008- 5:00pm -7:00pm
Organize, Update and Share With Google Page Creator and Google Calendar. With this you can create functional, attractive web pages in just minutes—without having to learn code. This session is for educators interested in creating a simple easy to use web site that can be easily published with a click of a mouse. This is a great tool for educators because Google will host your page for free.
Simplify and get organized with Google calendar. This calendar allows you to set up separate calendars for each of your classes and share each one with a designated group of students, parents or the entire community. You can use Google Calendar to share info about class topics and descriptions for each session; assignment deadlines; test and quiz dates; and field trips and other activities. Moodle II: Intermediate Moodle for Educators Wednesdays, October 29, November 5, November 12 and November 19, 2008 - 5:00pm -7:00pm
Participants should be familiar with the basics of Moodle, including how to add activities and files, and how to navigate a Moodle course. This course will teach you strategies on how to implement online collaboration and interaction in Moodle. Covered in this course will be glossaries and online assignments, online discussion and collaboration, data driven decision making, construction of online self-graded quizzes and collection of data to help drive your instruction. Intermediate SMART™ Interactive White Board Training Tuesday, November 11, 2008 - 5:00pm -7:00pm
This two-day SMART™ workshop will be lead by a SMART™ exemplary educator and is intended for teachers who want to master the fundamentals of the SMART™ Notebook software. By the end of the two days you will have learned how to incorporate SMART™ notebook and ideas into you existing curriculum while having the time to prepare lessons and or a unit to be used in your classroom.
